Picards — an extremist early
15th-cent. sect prevalent in bohemia and the Vaudois, said to be so called from
Picard of Flanders, their founder, who called himself the New Adam and tried to
introduce the custom of living in the nude, like Adam in paradise. They were suppressed
by Ziska in 1421. Cp. Adamites. [BD]
